In ‘Nainai-dō ~The Tale of the Fox Priest and the Curse Scroll~ 8’, the clumsy monk, Tanuki Priest, and the ‘Nainai-dō’ shopkeeper, Gin’ya, who can ‘see through’ the key to events, tackle mysterious incidents involving yōkai. This volume follows Tanuki Priest as he begins investigating the mystery of his mother’s last case and the cause of her accident, after frequently dreaming of her since before his judicial exam. However, Gin’ya’s ‘vision’ reveals a sinister shadowy oni possessing Tanuki Priest. Set in a small town by a vast lake, this final volume includes two stories: ‘Shadow Oni’ and ‘Fox’, offering a compelling conclusion to the series.
